Our Center
Mission
The mission of Generations Crossing is to provide high quality, innovated adult and child day care for our ethically and economically diverse community.

Unique To Our Program
Generations Crossing offers a friendly and stimulating environment for adults unable to be home alone during the day. Participants are provided the opportunity to maintain the highest level of independence by promoting social, physical, intellectual and emotional well-being. Participants enjoy the company of other adults and access to direct medical care provided by nursing staff.
Children from 6 weeks old through 12 years of age are cared for at Generations Crossing with daily activities appropriate to the nurturing and development of each age. Our program is designed to allow children to explore and discover at their own pace with guidance to help them reach their fullest potential.
Unique to our program is the special opportunity for adults and children to develop meaningful relationships with all ages within our loving, intergenerational setting. Regular interaction with children encourages special relationships that build caring, respect, pride and dignity between generations.

Generations Crossing is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services for adult and child day care. Generations Crossing is governed by a Board of Directors. The center receives funding from the United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, and is supported by additional contributions from individuals, businesses, churches and civic groups.

Testimonials
“I would highly recommend your facility to anyone who is looking for peace of mind about the care of their loved one.” Caregiver
“The intergenerational experience was one of the primary reasons for choosing Generations Crossing for Jake’s daycare. I think this is wonderful. Both the adults and the children need companionship during the day and they find it here. Little Jake’s eyes are full of curiosity and mischief. Big Jake’s eyes are full of knowledge. They have a lot to offer each other.” Grandmother Twila lee
